The five-year-strong Electronic Dance Music (EDM) fest LifeDance is just around the corner, a Sinulog staple, and just changed the game with an unprecedented three stages this year, made possible only in its new home, City di Mare at the South Road Properties.

“I’ve always wanted to find a venue that was bigger, always bigger,” says Gahum Garcia, who started LifeDance in 2012 at an abandoned mall complex at the North Reclamation Area. “It wasn’t until this call that all this was made possible.”

Unquestionably the largest EDM festival in this country, LifeDance 2017 happens on Jan. 13, Friday. For the first time, they introduce Solaris, a stage for live band acts. A second stage called Eden harks back to the beginnings of EDM and some truly old-school cool. A third, dubbed Utopia, features experimental beats and cutting edge artists that push the envelope of EDM.

The four-hectare, grass covered flat area of City di Mare comes also with many other comforts. “We’re providing a 1.8 hectare lot exclusively for parking,” reveals Don Ubaldo, project head of City di Mare. “It features a dedicated spot for Uber parking and a security detail, because that is our main concern for those who will be coming to this huge event.”

City di Mare is a 40 hectare mixed-use development under Filinvest Land Inc., a joint venture partnership with the Cebu City Government. City di Mare houses Amalfi and Sanremo Oasis—residential projects under Filinvest Land Inc. and Il Corso—its retail component. PR
