Filipinos have been embracing lifestyle changes in pursuit of holistic wellness in their everyday lives. In southern Manila, Filinvest City noticed the increasing number of bikers and joggers who have been doing their rounds in the city.

In line with the lifestyle trend of the southerners, Filinvest City saw the opportunity to launch Carless Sundays so residents or non-residents can freely roam the streets and do their favorite outdoor activities. Major roads such as Commerce Avenue, Corporate Avenue, Parkway, and Filinvest Avenue are closed from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. so people can freely walk, run, play and jog on the streets.

Filinvest City offers a laidback landscape that people can enjoy during the weekends. Its surrounding parks and walkways are an inviting avenue for families to exercise and spend interactive activities. For fun exercises, there are free Zumba sessions at 6:00 a.m. every Sunday. Bikers can enjoy the hassle-free bike trails, and if they want to try out the Bambike experience, the bikes will be available for rent on June 5 and July 3.

Flag Football PH Blitz Babes

For a more extreme workout, people can try Flag Football as free football clinics for all ages will also be available onsite. Residents can also watch the Flag Football PH team during their pickup games every Sunday. Families with kids can enjoy a run on the obstacle course area, which is open daily.

Zumba participants happily sweating it out

According to Don Ubaldo, Senior Assistant Vice President and Project Head of Filinvest City, Carless Sundays is just a start towards the long-term goal of creating an experiential and engaging city. The sprawling 244-hectare property has remained firmly committed to embracing and promoting greener lifestyles and offering wide-open spaces where anyone can safely enjoy outdoor activities.

The property is also working on integrating a seamless path where people can enjoy moving around from one development to another – either by foot, by bike or via public transport. “Bike lanes and canopied sidewalks will be established soon,” Ubaldo discloses.
